Commencing in March 2022, Watersmeet Carp Lake in France underwent an extensive series of renovations to elevate its offerings and enhance visitor experiences. The ambitious project began with the draining of the lake to facilitate crucial repairs, including the removal of silt, installation of a new monk, and rectification of leaks, ensuring optimal conditions for aquatic life. During this phase, a total of 114 fish were carefully relocated and housed elsewhere until the renovations concluded. By August 2022, diggers arrived to augment the lake’s depth, enhancing its ecological balance and fishing opportunities. Subsequently, in August 2022, Watersmeet was officially closed for the entirety of 2023 to allow for uninterrupted renovation work. Concurrently, various ancillary projects, such as bamble clearing and fruit tree planting, were undertaken to beautify and diversify the landscape. Following a brief hiatus, renovations resumed in September 2023, with significant progress witnessed by December of the same year as the lake began to be refilled. By the end of December, Watersmeet Carp Lake stood fully rejuvenated, poised to offer an unparalleled retreat amid its refreshed and revitalized surroundings.
